Airtel and TCS partnered for 5G Services

Current Context: The Bharti Airtel entered into a strategic partnership with the Tata Group for 5G network solutions.

Both the entities will jointly implement 5G Network Solutions for India and will make it available for commercial development from January 2022.
For this purpose, they will make use of open radio access network (ORAN) technology. The ORAN based radio and non-standalone architecture or stand-alone architecture core (NSA/SA) will be used.
The NSA/SA will control the signalling of 5G radio.
The Bharti Airtel has roped in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for its system integration capability.
