Airtel and TCS partnered for 5G Services

Current Context: The Bharti Airtel entered into a strategic partnership with the Tata Group for 5G network solutions.
Airtel and TCS partnered for 5G Services
  • Both the entities will jointly implement 5G Network Solutions for India and will make it available for commercial development from January 2022.
  • For this purpose, they will make use of open radio access network (ORAN) technology. The ORAN based radio and non-standalone architecture or stand-alone architecture core (NSA/SA) will be used.
  • The NSA/SA will control the signalling of 5G radio.
  • The Bharti Airtel has roped in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for its system integration capability.
