  • The DRDO conducted a successful test-firing operation of an extended-range version of the indigenously developed Pinaka rocket. The launching took place from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) at ITR, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. The Pinaka Rocket System can destroy targets at distances up to 45 km. For testing operation, 25 Enhanced Pinaka Rockets were launched in quick succession against different range targets.

  • The Ind-Ra (India Ratings and Research) has revised GDP growth rate for India. As per the rating agency, the GDP growth rate for India for FY22 to be at 9.6%. Earlier it has estimated the GDP growth rate at 10.1% for the same.
  • The department of heavy industries, which comes under the Ministry of heavy industries and public enterprises has extended the tenure of a scheme called ‘FAME India Phase II’ for 2 years i.e. till March 2024.

  • Awards and Recognition: Delhi Metro: It has won the 'Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award' for 2020 by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) for its “High-Quality” infrastructure development projects under Phase I, II and III.
    • RK Sabharwal: He was honoured with the highest civilian award of Mongolia. The award called ‘The Order of Polar Star’ was awarded to him. He is CMD of Engineers India Limited.
