Current Context: The Ministerial Thematic Forum for UN High-level Dialogue on Energy (HLDE) was held in a virtual manner.

• It is an initiative of UN-Energy.
• It was held to promote implementation of the energy-related goals and targets of the 2030 agenda to attain sustainable development.
• The dignitaries discussed Energy Access, Energy Transition, Enabling SDGs through innovative inclusions, innovation, technology and data, finance and investment in the energy sector.
• The Ministerial Thematic Forum was held to frame high-level dialogue on energy during the 76th session of the UN General Assembly which will be held in Sep 2021 in the USA.
• India, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Chile, Germany, Nigeria, Poland, Spain and UK were designated as Global Champions for the theme of ‘Energy Transition’.
• The dignitaries launched a theme to report on energy transition. The report highlights major suggestions to boost up energy transition across the world.
