World’s 1st Green Rating System for HSR

Current Context: The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has collaborated with the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) to form the world’s first exclusive Green Rating System for High-Speed Rail (HSR).

• The MAHSR (Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail) Corridor will be inducted for the Green Rating System for High-Speed Rail (HSR).
• The Green HSR Ratings will be framed by IGBC. The ratings will help railway stations to offer environmental sustainability features to improve the commuter experience.
• A rating system is a tool that will enable new High-Speed Rail (HSR) stations, to apply energy-efficient concepts during design and construction.
