‘Atmanirbhar Krishi App’

Current Context: The government launched the 'Atmanirbhar Krishi App' for the farmer's community of India.

• The app will provide data to the farmers about actionable agricultural insights and weather alerts.
• The data relating to farmers which are released by various government departments 'KisanMitr' platform will now be displayed on 'Atmanirbhar Krishi App'.
• The app is available in 12 regional languages.
• The data collected by research organisations like IMD, ISRO, ICAR, and CGWA will be displayed on the app.
• The Founder Trustee Raja Seeva of Bengaluru-based Indian Center for Social Transformation (ICST) is one of the major stakeholders in the development of the Atmanirbhar Krishi App and KisanMitr initiative.
• The app will provide data related to soil health, weather conditions, moisture, water table etc. This data is aggregated and analyzed to frame proper insights about fertilizers requirement, selection of crop and quantity need for crops.
• The app envisioned in 5 stages: (1) Data Aggregation (2) Framing Centralised Insights (3) Enable Local Expertise supported interactions and insights (4) Forming machine learning interfaces (5) Continous improvement approach.
