Current Context: The subsidiary of state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Ltd named Convergence India Services Ltd (CESL) has signed an MoU with World Resources Institute (WRI) India.

  • They have collaborated to help state governments to frame strategies for the transition to electric mobility in the coming years.
  • The entities will work to boost India’s net-zero mission.
  • The WRI India will offer support to CESL to frame business models which will help state governments to move towards renewable energy, improve battery storage efficiencies and attain their respective targets.
  • It will also help India to attain its objective of transition to Electric Vehicles.
  • Under this partnership, WRI India will use its experience to grant technical expertise solutions so that central and state e-bus policies and subsidies translate to more buses deployed on the road.
  • The WRI India will offer analytical and evidence-based advocacy to accelerate the energy transition with a major focus on electric mobility.
