DBT signed MoU with MoES

Current Context: The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) signed MoU with the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES).

• The MoU was signed to enhance cooperation in the area of polar biology.
• It will allow to bring out the expertise and services of both entities under one platform.
• They will jointly work to address issues associated with polar biology.
• The main focus of the MoU will be on biotechnological applications of polar microbes.
• They will set up DBT-MoES Polar Research Centre at MoES stations in Polar Regions. The centre will help to conduct joint research activities.
