Current Context: The Devaranya Yojana is being prepared by the Madhya Pradesh Government.
Devaranya Yojana-- Madhya Pradesh
  • The Devaranya Yojana is the Ayush-based economic upgradation scheme.
  • It is having two main objectives of improving the health of the people and improving the livelihood of the tribal community through Ayurveda.
  • Under this scheme, AYUSH medicinal plants will be planted in order to enhance the value chain of AYUSH medicines.
  • The plantation will be held at the rural level by SHG and it will also promote tourism of the state as well.
  • Uptil now, more than 360 new AYUSH health and wellness centres are set up in the state and the state government is planning to upgrade Ayurvedic and Yunani dispensaries.
  • The scheme will thus work to bring AYUSH and tourism together and will thus increase employment opportunities in tribal areas.
