GOI Forms 25 member Development Council for the Cement Industry

Current Context: The GOI has formed 25-member Development Council for the Cement Industry (DCCI).

• The 25 member DCCI will be headed under the chairmanship of Puneet Dalmia, CMD in Dalmai Bharat Group.
• The council will recommend measures to eliminate waste, obtain maximum production, improve quality, reduce costs and promote standardization of products.
• The council will suggest measures which will help to get full utilization of the installed capacity and will thus improve the working of the industry
• It will offer measures to promote the training of persons. It will incorporate scientific and industrial research measures to uplift the sector
• The standardization of accounting and costing methods and practices will also be suggested by the council.
