Current Context: The Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi was expanded with the addition of a new council of ministers.

  • The new list of cabinets is reshuffled and includes some of the new entrants.
  • The 43 Ministers, including 15 new Cabinet Ministers and 28 Ministers of State (MoS), took the oath of office at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • PM Narendra Modi will continue to head: Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy; Department of Space; All important policy issues; and All other portfolios not allocated to any Minister.
