US announced USD 41 million COVID-19 Assistance Support to India

Current Context: The United States has announced an additional USD 41 million in assistance help to India deal with the pandemic COVID-19.

  • The support will help India to strengthen its economy and be prepared for future health emergencies.
  • The financial support of USD 41 million is granted through United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
  • Until now, the USAID has granted more than USD 200 million to India to fight the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
  • It has also provided training to more than 241,000 frontline health workers.
  • The USD 41 million assistance will be used for Covid-19 testing, pandemic-related mental health services, timely referrals to medical services, and access to healthcare in remote areas.
