‘AL-MOHED AL-HINDI 2021’ Naval Exercise

Current Context: The ‘AL-MOHED AL-HINDI 2021’ is the first naval exercise between the Indian Navy and Royal Saudi Naval Force that has commenced.

• The exercise is being held to showcase the defence and military cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia.
• India is represented by INS Kochi, which is the flagship destroyer of the Indian Western Naval Fleet and it has reached Port-al-Jubail of Saudi Arabia.
• This is the first-ever joint naval exercise between both nations.
• Several practices like shore and sea-based drills will be conducted in the naval exercise.
