IIFL HFL signed Agreement with ADB

Current Context: The IIFL Home Finance (India Infoline Home Finance Ltd) which is the housing finance company entered into an agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

• The agreement was signed to get finance to reduce carbon emissions, preserve water quality and have a green building ecosystem in India.
• The technical assistance will be granted by IIFL.
• Both entities will work to support the green building ecosystem with affordable housing in India.
• The cost of the work under the agreement is approx. $1 million (over Rs 7.4 crore).
• The funds will be granted by ADB under Urban Climate Change Resilience (UCCR) Trust Fund.
• The additional funds will be granted by IIFL HFL of upto $1,50,000.
• Both the entities will jointly work to integrate green lending and climate adaptation strategies to have an affordable housing sector in India.
