Current Context: UNICEF India and Facebook have collaborated to launch a one-year joint initiative to end violence against children with a major focus on their online safety.
UNICEF India partnered with Facebook
  • Both the entities will generate a safe environment for children in the online and offline platforms.
  • The initiative will improve children’s resilience so that they can access the digital world in a safe manner.
  • Both the entities will create awareness among the children so that they will access the online world in a safe manner.
  • Also, the awareness of violence against children and its impact on children, families, and communities will be created.
  • Skills among the communities and frontline workers will be developed in order to prevent and ways to respond against violence.
  • Both UNICEF India and Facebook will launch a nationwide social media campaign and capacity building for 100,000 school children about online safety, digital literacy, and psychosocial support.
  • The keynote during the launch of the initiative was delivered by actor Ayushmann Khurrana who is UNICEF India’s celebrity advocate on ending violence against children/
