40th Meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB)

Current Context: The 40th meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) was held virtually and was chaired by the Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri. He is also the chairman of NCRPB.

• He launched the Combined Reciprocal Common Transport Agreement (CRCTA). It will offer carriage facilities among state governments of Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
• The dignitaries discussed Draft Regional Plan 2041. This will enable interstate connectivity, trade activities, and transportation facilities.
• At the meeting, ‘Pariman’ which is the online geoportal was also launched. The portal is based on remote sensing and GIS technology. It is developed by NIC for the NCR planning board.
• Static Part: 
• NCR: It signifies National Capital Region. It covers entire Delhi and adjacent districts from the surrounding states of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. It comes under the NCR Planning Board Act 1985
