AIIA signed MoU with NICM Western Sydney University, Australia

Current Context: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) signed MoU with NICM Western Sydney University, Australia. The AIIA comes under the Ministry of Ayush.

• The MoU was signed to support and appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda.
• The appointment of the chair was funded by Ayush Ministry and Western Sydney University.
• It will commence at the start of 2022.
• The appointed Academic Chair will manage academic and research activities in Ayurveda.
• It will also manage herbal medicine and yoga.
• It will frame academic standards, short-term and medium-term courses, and educational guidelines in Ayurveda.
• It will conduct workshops/seminars/conferences on Ayurveda, provide tutorials to students, and will promote effective usage of Ayurvedic Systems in Australia.
• It will promote Ayurveda medicines into the conventional healthcare sector.
