Current Context: The EXIM Bank has completed its agreement with Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation India (FDC) which is based in Maldives.
India supports Maldives to Construct Social Housing Units
  • The agreement was for the purpose to grant buyers credit worth $228 million to construct Social Housing Units in Hulhumale phase II.
  • Around 4000 Social Housing Units will be constructs in the sanctioned funds support.
  • The construction activities will be undertaken by India’s National Building Construction Company (NBCC) and JMC Projects of India.
  • Both these entities have good experience in real estate developmental activities and civil construction projects at the national as well as at the international level.
  • In a total of 4000 social housing units, 2800 units will be of 3 bedrooms and 3 toilets facilities whereas the remaining 1200 units will be of 2 bedrooms and 2 toilets facilities.
