- The NIDHI signifies the National Integrated Database of Hospitality Industry.
- It was inaugurated during the event organised by the Tourism Ministry on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
- The scheme was launched by the Ministry of Tourism with an aim to digitize the tourism sector and promote ease of doing business for the hospitality & tourism sector.
- The scheme encourages associated units to register themselves on the platform and become part of the hospitality and tourism industry.
- The NIDHI 2.0 Scheme will be inculcated with more features and also accommodates travel agents, tour operators, & others.
- At the occasion, the MoU was also signed among the Tourism ministry, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and The Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI). The MoU will work to promote and have sustainable initiatives in the tourism sector of India.
