- The ‘Millet Mission’ aims to offer proper price rates to farmers for minor cereal crops.
- The mission also aims to make the state India’s millet hub.
- To implement and execute the mission the state government has signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR), Hyderabad, and the collectors of 14 districts of the state.
- Through this mission, the state farmers will also receive input assistance support for millet, procurement support, and arrangements, and best expertise advice to process the crops.
- The mission will help to enhance the productivity of crops like Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi.
- The farmers will be given the assistance of Rs.9000 per acre and Rs.10,000 per acre for growing Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi instead of paddy.
