‘Sansad TV’

Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairperson, M Venkaiah Naidu, and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla launched ‘Sansad TV’.

• It was launched at the Main Committee Room, Parliament House Annexe.
• The launching of the ‘Sansad TV’ has added a major and vital chapter to India’s parliamentary system.
• The ‘Sansad TV’ programming will be based on 4 categories of: Functioning of the Parliament and democratic institutions, governance and implementation of schemes and policies, history and culture of India, and issues of interest to the common man.
• The shows on this channel will be hosted by veteran Congress leader Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and advocate Hemant Batra.
• The proceedings of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will also be showcased.
