CII Asia Health 2021 Summit

Current Context: The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya participated and addressed the CII Asia Health 2021 Summit via video conference.

• The theme of the summit was: ‘Transforming Healthcare for a better tomorrow’.
• It was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
• The summit granted a centralized forum to discuss the critical challenge related to the healthcare sector which is being faced in India and across the world.
• The summit aims to transform the healthcare sector in a digital manner which will help to improve the patient recovery ratio.
• While addressing the summit, the union minister highlighted various initiatives taken by GOI during the pandemic in the country.
• He mentioned the initiatives like ‘Dawai Bhi Kadai Bhi’ and ‘Do Gaj ki Doori, Mask hai Zaruri’ and how these initiatives benefited people, especially during the COVID-19 situation.
• He also highlighted initiatives like Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Health and Wellness Centres, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) for generic medicines, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), and PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
• He mentioned that GOI is committed to Access, Affordability, Accountability, Adoption, and Awareness in the Healthcare sector.
