  • India is ranked at 71st position in the index with a score of 57.2 points.
  • The 1st position is marked by Ireland.
  • The 2nd and 3rd positions are marked by Australia and UK respectively.
  • The index measures the factors which impact food insecurity around the world.
  • It considers 4 parameters and 58 unique food security indicators to give ranking to the countries.
  • The parameters are: affordability, availability, quality and safety, and natural resources and resilience.
  • India’s rank in each parameter: 80th (affordability), 29th (availability), 74th (quality and safety), and 40th (natural resources and resilience).
