ICRIER’s 13th Annual International G-20 Conference

Current Context: The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) 13th Annual International G20 Conference was held recently.

• The inaugural session of the conference was addressed by the Minister of Textiles, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal.
• At the conference, he mentioned that the pandemic COVID-19 has remodeled the priorities of the G20.
• He mentioned that G20 is playing and will play a major role to develop people, the planet, and collective prosperity.
• He mentioned that G20 is an international platform that brings nations together to address major problems and bring peace and prosperity.
• The members of the G20 account for more than 80% of the world GDP, 75% of the global trade, and 60% of the planet's population.
