Current Context: India has taken the decision to sign a Line of Credit (LoC) to support development projects in Kyrgyzstan.

  • The LoC of USD 200 million will be signed for the same.
  • The decision was taken when Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held cordial and constructive talks about global and bilateral relations with his counterpart Ruslan Kazakbaev.
  • The funds will be used to conduct high-impact community projects in Kyrgyzstan.
  • The MoU on ‘High Impact Community Development Projects’ will enable commencement in developing various community projects under grant funding by GoI.
  • It will also develop bilateral relations between both nations.
