India –US Industrial Security Agreement Summit

Current Context: The Industrial Security Agreement summit between India and the United States took place recently.

• It was held to frame a protocol for exchanging information between ministries of defense of both nations.
• The summit was led by Designated Security Authorities of both nations. The Indian side was represented by Anurag Bajpai and the US side was represented by David Paul Bagnati.
• At the summit, it was decided to establish the Indo-US Industrial Security Joint Working Group.
• This group will meet periodically and will discuss policies that will allow their defence ministries to partner with each other in various cutting-edge defence technologies.
• Both the nations had signed Industrial Security Agreement in 2019.
