- The Gati Shakti is a digital platform in which 16 central ministries and departments will implement infrastructural projects for more than 1200 industrial clusters
- The projects will be developed for defence corridors, economic zones like textile clusters, pharma clusters, fishing clusters and agri zones
- The Gati Shakti aims to speed up and give power to the various infrastructural projects
- It aims to cut logistic costs, increase cargo handling capacity and reduce the turnaround time.
- It will also generate employment opportunities
- It is based on 6 pillars which are mentioned below:
- (a) Comprehensiveness: It includes existing and planned initiatives of various ministries and departments with one centralized portal.
- (b) Prioritisation: Various departments will be able to prioritise their projects by interactions with cross sectors
- (c) Optimisation: The plan will assist different ministries to plan their projects with optimum solutions
- (d) Synchronisation: There will be coordination among various entities, tasks and procedure in the plan
- (e) Analytical: The entire data of the plan will be available at one place using GIS-based spatial planning and analytical tools having 200+ layers. It will provide better visibility
- (f) Dynamic: All the departments will be able to visualize, review and monitor the progress of cross-sectoral projects using GIS platform. The progress activity will be provided by satellite imagery
