World Justice Project’s (WJP) Rule of Law Index 2021
  • As per the index, India is ranked at 79th position out of 139 countries.
  • The 1st position is marked by Denmark.
  • The 2nd and 3rd ranks are marked by Norway and Finland respectively.
  • The index ranks countries based on scores ranging from 0 to 1. The 1 indicates the strongest adherence to the rule of law.
  • The index measures that how the rule of law is experienced and perceived worldwide.
  • 8 factors are considered for ranking: Constraints on government powers, zero corruption, open government, access to fundamental rights, order and security, regulatory enforcement, civil justice, and criminal justice.
  • The last position of 139th was marked by Venezuela, RB.
