Current Context: The 32nd edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol i.e. Indo-Thai CORPAT was conducted.
32nd India –Thailand CORPAT
  • The Indo-Thai CORPAT was conducted to enhance maritime security and maritime links between India and Thailand.
  • India was represented by INS Karmuk which is an indigenously built Missile Corvette.
  • Thailand was represented by His Majesty's Thailand Ship (HTMS) Tayanchon which is a Khamrosin Class Anti-submarine Patrol Craft.
  • The Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both nations took participation in the exercise.
  • The Indo-Thai CORPAT aims to eradicate illegal activities like illegal and unreported fishing, drug trafficking, maritime terrorism, and piracy.
  • The exercise is conducted twice a year by both the nations along their International Maritime Boundary Line. It commenced in 2005.
