‘Pakke Declaration’ on Climate Change was Adopted by Arunachal Pradesh

Current Context: The Arunachal Pradesh government has approved and adopted the ‘Pakke Tiger Reserve 2047 Declaration on Climate Change Resilient and Responsive Arunachal Pradesh’.
‘Pakke Declaration’ on Climate Change was Adopted by Arunachal Pradesh
  • This declaration aims to have climate-resilient development in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • In this regard, the meeting was held at Pakke Tiger Reserve, where the ‘Pakke Declaration’ was adopted.
  • The declaration will work to focus on having low emission and development of climate-resilient culture on the basis of 5 major themes or Panch Dharas.
  • The Panch Dharas are: (a) Environment, forest, and climate change (b) Health and well-being (c)Sustainable and adaptive living (d) Livelihood and opportunities (e) Evidence generation and collaborative action
  • It will help to lower the emission and attain sustainable development in the state.
