Swachh Survekshan Awards 2021

Current Context: The Swachh Survekshan Awards 2021 were presented by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

• The awards were presented at the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav which was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
• This was the 6th edition of the awards.
• By considering three parameters namely, service level progress (SLP), certifications, and citizen’s voice, the cities were awarded.
• The cleanest city award was again won by Indore for the fifth consecutive year.
• The 2nd and 3rd positions were won by Surat in Gujarat and Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh respectively.
