Current Context: The government of Andhra Pradesh signed MoU with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
AP signed MoU with UN-FAO and ICAR
  • The MoU was signed to strengthen methods to support farmers in agriculture.
  • Various sustainable agri-food systems will be framed and will be adopted by the state in its agriculture sector.
  • The farmers in the state will be able to adopt sustainable Agri-food systems in their farming activities.
  • Under the MoU, FAO will provide training to farmers, Rythu Bharosa Kendram (RBK) staff, officials, and scientists.
  • The training related to the new technologies in Agri and allied sectors will be given so that they will implement best cultivation management practices.
  • The RBK is the farmer support center that is set up in the state as part of an effort to weed away fake seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers from the markets.
  • Both ICAR and UN-FAO will work to strengthen RBKs in the state.
