Current Context: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) has launched the ‘Atmanirbhar Hastshilpkar’ scheme.

• The ‘Atmanirbhar Hastshilpkar’ scheme aims to grant support to the artisans in the Northeast region.
• Under the scheme, financial assistance will be granted to the artisans in the form of term loans for income-generating activities.
• The financial assistance facility is collateral-free and has a subsidized interest rate of 6 percent per annum which is to be repayable in 24 months.
