Defence Ministry signed MoU with IITE Gandhinagar

Current Context: The Ministry of Defence signed MoU with the Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) Gandhinagar.

  • The MoU was signed to grant training to the teachers of Sainik Schools.
  • This will help to boost the capacity building of teachers of Sainik Schools so that they can provide quality education to students learning in these schools.
  • The MoU was also led to enhancing the brand of existing Sainik Schools and will also generate a way to set up 100 Sainik Schools.
  • The work under the MoU will commence from Jan 2022 and will be executed for a period of five years.
  • Around 800 teachers of Sainik Schools will be granted training sessions.
  • The training will be given through courses named ‘Gurudiksha’, and ‘Pratibaddhata’.
  • The MoU aims to nurture ‘the teachers of tomorrow’, implement the New Education Policy in schools and generate leadership qualities among students.
  • Teachers will also be made aware of time management for UPSC-NDA preparation and the CBSE curriculum with the correct knowledge of academic subjects.
  • It will also help to develop a teacher-student relationship in the boarding school environment.
