PM Modi laid Foundation Stone of Hydropower Projects in HP

Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for hydropower projects in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

• The project cost is worth Rs 11000 crore.
• It will help to enhance the economy of the state and will generate large power for the purpose of various users in the state.
• He laid the foundation stone of the Renukaji Dam project which was pending for around 3 decades. It is a 40MW project and costs Rs 7000 crore.
• He also laid the foundation stone of the Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project. It is a 210 MW project and costs Rs 1,800 crore. It will generate over 750 million units of electricity per year.
• It laid the foundation stone of Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project, which is the first hydropower project of Hamirpur district. It is a 66 MW project and cost Rs 680 crore. It will generate over 300 million units of electricity per year.
• He inaugurated the Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project which is 111 MW project and cost Rs 2,080 crore. It will generate 380 million units of electricity per year.
