- The moto of the challenge to evolve entrepreneurial skills for country’s waste management unit
- These skills will be utilized by Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to implement various components of SBM-U 2.0
- The challenge will enable the invention of indigenous, cost effective technologies which can be used in waste management works
- The challenge has commenced from 6th Dec 2021 and will be held till 15th Jan 2022’
- It is being held under 4 themes namely social inclusion, zero dump, plastic waste management and transparency through digital enablement
- It aims to get solutions from startups, individual entrepreneurs, educational institutes, local businesses, R&D organizations, NGOs, citizens who will help to tackle India’s problem of waste management through ideas and innovative technologies
- Also, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has signed MoU with UNDP to strengthen waste management sector of India under SBM-U 2.0
