DRDO successfully Test Fired MPATGM

Current Context: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully test-fired Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM).

• It was flight tested in its final ‘deliverable configuration’.
• The MPATGM is a low-weight ‘fire and forgets’ type of missile.
• The test validated the minimum range successfully and the final impact event was captured on camera.
• The missile has a range of 2.5 km.
• It has already completed a similar successful test for a maximum range of 4,000 meters.
• The MPATGM will be manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Limited at its facility in Bhanoor, Telangana.
