Himachal Pradesh and Haryana signed MoU

Current Context: The state governments of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana have signed MoU.

• The MoU was signed to construct the Adi Badri Dam on 77 acres of land in Himachal Pradesh.
• It will be constructed near the Adi Badri area of Yamunanagar, Haryana.
• The project is the revival of the Saraswati River.
• Funds of Rs 215.35 crore will be utilized to construct Adi Badri Dam.
• The dam will ensure continuous water flow of 20 cubic seconds from the Saraswati river throughout the year.
• The Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited will be responsible to execute the operation of the dam and its related infrastructure.
• The funding will be arranged by Haryana.
