ISRO launched EOS-04

Current Context: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched an Earth Observation Satellite, EOS-04, and two small satellites into the intended orbit.
ISRO launched EOS-04
  • They have launched on board the launch vehicle PSLV-C52 rocket.
  • They were launched from the First Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The EOS-04 is a Radar Imaging Satellite.
  • It will offer high-quality images in any condition of weather. These images will be helpful for various applications like agriculture, forestry, plantations, flood mapping, soil moisture, and hydrology.
  • Its weight is 1710 kg and generates 2280 W power. Its mission life is 10 years.
  • The other two small satellites which were launched are a student satellite (INSPIREsat-1), and a technology demonstrator satellite (INS-2TD).
