Current Context: The State Bank of India (SBI) has partnered with Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd.

• They have partnered to grant finance for setting up solar power projects.
• The SBI has also framed a dedicated centralized processing cell named as ‘Surya Shakti Cell’.
• The ‘Surya Shakti Cell’ aims to strengthen solar power projects by making financing arrangements.
• The cell is set up in the Ballard Estate in Mumbai.
• It will process the loan applications for the solar power projects which are received from Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd and are having a maximum capacity of up to 1 MW.
• Loans for household as well as business entities will be processed by the cell.
