- The funds of Rs 365 crores for the tenure of five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26 is allocated for the scheme.
- The scheme is based on two themes namely: (a) Central Sector Scheme for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Welfare of Transgender Persons (b) Central Sector Scheme for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of engaged in the act of Begging.
- (a) Central Sector Scheme for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Welfare of Transgender Persons: It includes Scholarships for Transgender Students, Skill Development and Livelihood under PM-DAKSH scheme of the Department, Medical Health package, Shelter Homes ‘Garima Greh’ with various facilities and Setting up of Transgender Protection cell.
- (b) Central Sector Scheme for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of engaged in the act of Begging: It includes Survey and Identification of beneficiaries, mobilization of the people engaged in begging to Shelter Homes, educating children engaged in the act of Begging.
