Current Context: The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) signed MoU with the Government of Maharashtra.

• They have signed MoU to grant support under the ‘Majhi Vasundhara’ campaign of the state.
• The campaign aims to offer sustainable use of energy and environmental development.
• The ‘Majhi Vasundhara’ signifies ‘My Earth’ and hence deals with the protection and development of environment.
• The campaign is an initiative of the Environment and Climate Change Department of the state.
• The campaign will empower people about climate change and environmental issues and will motivate them to adopt efforts to improve, develop and protect the environment we live in.
