Current Context: The ‘Waste to Wealth Creation’ program was launched by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
‘Waste to Wealth Creation’ programme
  • It was launched for women in the Sundarbans in West Bengal.
  • Under the program, women will make ornaments and showpieces from the fish scales.
  • The SIDBI will support 50 women by generating revenues from alternate livelihoods.
  • Then these 50 women will perform the role of trainer to train further participants of the program.
  • The program was launched under the Swavalamban Mission of SIDBI which aims to grant support to the artisans.
