India and Singapore signed MoU

Current Context: India and Singapore have entered into MoU to enhance cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
India and Singapore signed MoU
  • The MoU was signed between India’s Department of Science & Technology and the Ministry of Trade & Industry of Singapore.
  • Therefore, due to this MoU, industries and research institutes of both countries will develop new products which will tackle economic and societal challenges.
  • The MoU document was signed between Dr. S Chandrasekhar, Secretary of DST, and Dr. Lee Chuan Teck, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Trade & Industry of Singapore.
  • The MoU will allow the sharing of experiences faced in national research programs, framing innovation policies and programs for both countries.
  • They will share scientific and technological information.
  • They will conduct workshops, training sessions, scientific seminars, and conferences to meet the objective of MoU.
  • The MoU will be effective for the period of 5 years and will be extended further for 5 more years.
  • Thus both countries will perform joint research and development projects, which will be having industrial R&D to advance technology development for commercial outcomes.
