India's 1st Hydrogen-Powered Fuel Cell Car to be launched

Current context: Recently, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has inaugurated 1st pilot project of hydrogen-based advanced fuel cell Electric vehicles.

• This vehicle will make a huge shift from fossil fuel and it will also conserve our environment.
• This project has been initiated by Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. along with International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT).
• This project will help in running the vehicles on hydrogen on roads and climate conditions.
• The Toyota Mirai (Future) is powered by a Hydrogen fuel cell battery pack.
• It is capable of providing a range of 650km.
• It was 1st launched in 2014 as the world's 1st hydrogen fuel electric vehicle.
