Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) Promotion Task Force

Current Context: Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has constituted an Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) Promotion Task Force.

• This was announced in the Budget speech by Finance Minister.
• This has been constituted to promote “Create in India” & “Brand India”.
• THE AVGC Promotion task Force will be headed by the Secretary, of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
• It will have Secretaries of the following Ministries and Departments:-
• Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship;
• Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education;
• Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and
• Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade
• Terms of Reference of the Task Force:-
• Framing of national AVGC policy
• Recommend curriculum for Graduation, Post- Graduation and Doctoral courses in AVGC related sectors
• Facilitate skill training
• Boost employment opportunities
• Promote Indian AVGC Industry,
• Enhance exports and recommend incentives to attract FDI in the AVGC sector.
