Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) Meeting

Current Context: India is hosting Clean Energy Ministerial Senior Officials meeting currently.

• It has been organized to review the work of various workstreams in Clean Energy Policies.
• The meeting will also prepare the agenda for the Clean Energy Ministerial meeting which is scheduled in September 2022.
• In the two sessions of the meeting the following two points were discussed:

1. Transition Agenda
2. Scaling-Up Clean Energy Innovation and Actions – Investment Opportunities

• GOI and the government of the UK lead the plenary dialogue on the future of energy transition.
• CEM is a high-level global forum of 29 member countries to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology. They share lessons learned and best practices and encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy.
