First Commercial Mission to ISS

Current Context: SpaceX has successfully launched its Axiom-1(Ax-1) which will take astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). SpaceX has achieved the unique feat of launching a 1st all-private mission in collaboration with Axiom Space and NASA.
First Commercial Mission to ISS
  • Ax-1 has 4 crew members who would carry out research at the ISS.
  • The mission has paved the way for the commercialization of outer space. It will attract a parallel industry for space tourism.
  • The mission took off from Kennedy Space Center, Florida using the Falcon 9 Rocket designed by SpaceX.
  • SpaceX has also revealed that a space tour to the ISS in the Low Earth Orbit would cost a person 55 million USD.
