INS Vagasheer Launched

Current Context: One of the Six Scorpene-Class Submarine, INS VAGASHEER has been launched for sea trials from Mumbai.
INS Vagasheer Launched
  • INS VAGASHEER is a scorpene class submarine indigenously made by Mazagon Dockyard in Goa. It is a part of the P75I Project of the Indian Navy. It has been launched for sea trials for 12-13 months.
  • The tests and trials would ascertain VAGASHEER’S potential and make it combat-ready over a course of 12 -13 months. It has been named after a sea predator Sand Fish.
  • INS KALVARI, KHANDERI, and INS KARANG have already been instituted in the Indian Navy as a part of the P75 Project. INS VAGASHEER would augment the Naval Prowess.
