Current Context: A curtain raiser program to promote the conference on the National Calendar of India was held recently at IIT Guwahati.
National Calendar of India
  • 2 day Conference will be held on April 22-23, 2022 at Ujjain and Dongla (Madhya Pradesh)
  • Ujjain and Dongla are placed on the Tropic of Cancer.
  • The conference is being organized by the Ministry of Culture, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Science and many other scientific organizations together.
  • ‘Indian National Calendar’, is based on Saka Era with Chaitra as its first month and a normal year of 365 days.
  • It is scientific expression of India’s identity and was adopted constitutionally by the parliament in 1957.
