Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sangeet Natak Awards & National Awards of Lalit Kala Akademi

Current Context: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu conferred the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship and Sangeet Natak Awards for the year 2018 and the National Awards of Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi.

• Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship was given to 4 people, namely, Zakir Hussain, Jatin Goswami, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, and Thiruvidaimarudur Kuppiah Kalyanasundaram. For their contribution to the field of performing arts.
• Lalit Kala Akademi awarded Fellowship to 3 artists Himmat Shah, Jyoti Bhatt, and Shyam Sharma.
• Sangeet Kala Akademi Award 2018 was given to 40 artists whereas Lalit Kala Akademi Awards were given to 23 personalities including three fellows.
